DV LOttery DV2020 | Mandamus lawsuit information

This is a looooong video (sorry) explaining about a lawsuit that will be filed in early July. DV2020 selectees (only DV2020, not DV2021) may want information about the lawsuit and this video is intended to provide my thoughts about it.

Please remember, this lawsuit is a gamble, and some will find it expensive. I am not saying you should or should not participate in the lawsuit - I am purely giving the information and my thoughts about it.

Thanks for sharing information about the case, Simon. I have heard from many of your viewers who are interested in seeing the case law- the decisions in the other relevant cases.

Modernly, 2 cases have been filed on behalf of only DV lottery winners that are are important precedents- Almaqrami v Pompeo (formerly known as PK v Tillerson) filed in 2017, and Mohamed v Pompeo filed in 2019. There is also the case filed this year that you talk about in this video, that incurred a setback on Monday, Nguyen v US Dept of Homeland Security. One issue with this case it was not just for DV Lottery winners, but also included family-based immigrants. We will not include family based immigrants in the DV case, because the hardship is different between the two groups.
