2 quick suggestions IF you do a 200 days with a snail chasing you;
why not trap it in the void, it wont die but it cant get out:
why not have a flying machine as your base, the snail wont catch it

Ways to trap the snail: 1. Make it fall into the void 2. Honeycomb trap maybe? 3. Trap it in bedrock with cobblestone generator 4. Cobblestone push up(Trap it on the sky and make a cobblestone generator and push frequently)

There is another idea to avoid the the snail 🐌 .
Make a fall trap then break Bedrock using the glitch. Then put buttons on the side . Then trap the snail in the trap . He would not die to void he would be stuck in the void
