i stand as the wreckage of humanity sits infront of me. Ruins of years of endless warfare. It was all over now. I look onwards into the horizon, and I see it. The Immortal Snail. My eyes soften, a weak smile appearing on my face. I had lived for thousands of years at this point, watching the Apex of humanity, and then it's downfall. I step towards the snail, looking down at it.

I kneel down, tears pricking at my eyes. "It's just you and me now, buddy." I mutter to the snail. "God, I'm going insane aren't I? Talking to a damn snail."

I reach out my hand. My entire lives purpose was to avoid this snail, and it's whole purpose was to kill me. I extend my finger as it moves slowly towards it. This snail, it had to have been tired too. Moving for thousands of years.

I speak my last words. "I'll see you on the other side buddy."

The snail's slimy head touches my finger, and I fall dead to the ground. Everything goes black, and the snail dies as well, it's purpose fulfilled. We both won, we both found our peace.

Here’s the big question does it have pain receptors because if not then maybe I can adapt to sea snail or let the waves carry it but if it does it’s gonna have to find a new way to travel
