It's been just over a month since Apple released the iPad mini 7, refreshing its smallest tablet with a new Apple Intelligence-capable A17 Pro chip. I have been using the ‌iPad mini 7‌ as a replacement for the iPad Pro for the last several weeks, and wanted to share some thoughts on Apple's latest iPad.

I have been in the IPAD mini camp ever since it was first introduced. The form factor and for what I use it for is perfect. Never have been tempted by any of the other IPADS. If I want to get any serious done then I have my Mac.

Agree, the Mini is just such a great consumption device. I’m switching to one, I can hardly get any work done on my iPad Pro. Just a gimped OS and software suite. Realised I’m only using the Pro for reading and videos and it’s not great for reading

Just upgraded from the 2019 5th Gen to the new 7th Gen. it’s the form factor that works for me - anything bigger would probably spend its life in a drawer. Really complements my iPhone 13 Mini.

Thanks for the content.

Recently I’ve been going smaller on everything. MacBook Pro 15 to MBA. iPhone 15 pro max to regular 16. And iPad Air to iPad mini.

I’ve never understood this so maybe you can explain. Why get an iPad with cellular when it can automatically connect to your iPhone? Why pay for a second plan?

I’m not saying you’re wrong, I just don’t understand the reasoning.

I love the iPad Mini 7. $400 at Costco (now back up in price, but on sale at Amazon). This has some notable upgrades to Mini 6, when you do some digging. Much as I wanted it on the Mini, going from a Pro Max phone with Promotion 120 Hz to the 60 Hz is not bothersome. WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 make a noticeable difference to me and I’m glad Apple finally doubled the starting storage to 128GB. 👍🏻

I love the mini I'm blind so for me it's not a real advantage having the larger screen. Agree for travel it is the best.

I’m an artist, and my main content creation device is an iPad Pro. But when I really wanna travel light, I always grab my iPad mini. It’s the perfect size digital sketchbook when on the go. 👍🏼

I love mine . EVERY iPad is a GREAT iPad. Apple doesn’t produce junk . Tech Geeks want every product CUSTOM MADE FOR THEM and love to complain .

i switched from an iPad Pro 11inch to the iPad Mini 6 gen and it has been the best decision ever made. I take it anywhere, i travel often so is easier for me. I remember i couldnt take the iPad pro anywhere because it was big and took so much space. is not the same resolution but I gotten used to it.

Which keyboard is it exactly? Looks perfect☺️

I would highlight that this device is the best for holding in hands for a longer time. Even the Air could be a bit heavy whist holding.
The Mini is perfect on a flight / train, most convenient to use.

Got mine 3 weeks ago and it’s the best iPad I’ve ever used. I can edit video, audio etc. Watch content and read. As for the jelly scrolling I’ve not noticed it and the screen looks fine to me at 60hz

The iPad mini is awesome.
However, I'd really like to have multiple windows. Not that I'd divide the screen into tree windows that often, but just to switch apps more easily.

I've used the standard (11-inch-ish) sized iPads since Gen 1 and I recently traded in my iPad Air 4 for the mini 17Pro. I found the iPad Air with the magic Keyboard just too big and heavy to lug around. I bought a used iPad Mini 4 just to test out the size and loved it, so I waited for the upgrade to the Mini 17Pro. For my use case it's the best value. Great for books, magazines (Apple News), movies, notes and even writing with a full sized bluetooth keyboard. (I use the same model keyboard as I do with my Mac so the touch is familiar). I actually use the camera on iPad and for some reason there is no flash on the iPad Air but there is on the mini. So that's a bonus. My only complaint is this: this shold be an iPhone Ultra and not an iPad Mini. Put the Phone and Apple Watch apps on this device and I wouldn't need an iPhone. I use the Apple Watch for my phone and music player and the iPad for everything else.

I switched to using an iPad mini years ago, I’ve had the original, 3rd, 6th and now 7th generations.
Never noticed jelly scrolling.

Love the Mini 7, just wish they did a magic keyboard and made it 1TB
