Which one would *you* pick for school? iPad, iPad mini, iPad Air 4, or iPad Pro? 🍎✏
Thanks for watching! Love you! 🥰

I actually got the mini for school. The Smart Cover actually helps it from sliding around. Although, I do agree with you about the hand space for writing. I do think it's the perfect device if you're using it in addition to a computer. To have a small notebook/textbook nearby that doesn't take up so much room on your desk or on your bag as a full size is what I'm most happy with. It's a great complementary device. Thanks for your video, Janice!

Janice - In the perfect world, a student will have 2 devices for school.: an iPad (11” / 12.9 pro) or a laptop and a iPad mini. The larger devices are ideal for taking notes/ writing papers and do the heavy lifting major course assignments. However when it comes to studying / reading, this is where the iPad mini shines. When you have a few minutes between classes, riding the bus or just hanging out in the student union, or even bed as you fall off to sleep you can whip out the iPad mini and read your notes, run through your flash cards or replay the video to make sure you caught that important comment made by the teacher. In addition Quick Note can be opened by taping the pen on the screen and you can write down that idea you want to use in your paper. Having all of the apps synced across multiple devices makes this ideal. The iPad mini hits that sweet spot where your iPhone is not big enough and your iPad Pro 12.9 / laptop is too big. If, however, a student is to only have a single device, the iPad mini is not the right choice. In reality, a student is going to have multiple devices, the iPad mini is a good choice for students as one of the tools in the mix.

I used the old iPad Mini throughout grad school and it worked fantastically for reading and note taking! It absolutely worked. The refreshed design looks amazing. I have the iPad Air now but if I didn’t, I would go for this in a heartbeat.

For left-handed people, the issue of your hand falling of the iPad mini at the end would not be a problem. We always start a sentence with our hand of the screen or page no matter the size of the iPad or even a regular notebook. I have watched a lot of reviews since I plan on buying an iPad mini yet I have never heard anyone mention this or include lefties in general...

It’s an awesome option for students I think. Portable and powerful!

I love my iPad mini 5 and have been using it as a secondary device to study since 2019, and would upgrade to the mini 6 if it wasn’t still such a great device. It’s great if you are typing dependent for the majority of your notes on a computer or laptop - which is me. It’s great for one-hand content consumption when your phone doesn’t quite cut it. It’s the best device for me for reading ebooks, and I read a lot with my degree in the arts/humanities. But I agree, for those who want to have a stronger hand-note taking focus, and multi-tasking on split screen focus, perhaps a larger standard iPad, Air or Pro may be a better option.

I use my iPad Pro 11’. I wanted it to be a sub for a laptop and with the addition of a keyboard and Apple Pencil it’s working amazing I haven’t noticed any limitations compare to a laptop. If it is within your budget, I definitely recommend it. If you’re going for just one device though, I don’t think the iPad mini will cover everything (such as note taking, lectures and writing-heavy assignments)

I have the pink one & it sure is a delight to use it. It's useful when reading books, magazines, watching movies and even writing. It literally has become my best friend.

Selling my 12.9 Pro and buying the mini. 12.9 is huge, heavy and uncomfortable for a tablet. I'd now argue even 11 is too big if you want to mainly hold it and carry it around or travel with it for multimedia or digital planning. I'd now only suggest 11 or 12.9 if you need a pencil compatible device and a laptop substitute with an attached keyboard in one. Or if you use it more stationary like a second display or need more space for drawing less portably. As a portable device though? I absolutely regret buying it. Don't make my mistake, in most cases if you have a laptop don't go for 12.9

Not the best comparison for sliding when you show the mini without a case and then the other iPad with a case…

I have small hands so it fits me perfect, I use it for learning my notes and for Flashcards reviewing on the go
It’s like a lovely A5 notebook!

I got the mini since I also have a macbook air and I think its a perfect addition! Something small but powerful. I was thinking about the air but when you have a laptop as well I dont think its very necessary to have a bigger device. Obviously why I didn't go with the pro! I use the mini for all school notes

I agree with you, I have the iPad mini 5 and mostly use it as a complementary device because it's too small. I like doing more heavy stuff on my laptop due to a bigger screen. I'd say it's awesome to take it with you to school and if you move around a lot. It's still an awesome device, but if you want something to replace a computer get the Pro or the Air if you're more on a budget.

I love the ipad mini, it's perfect, but the size is the only problem here for school!

I agree what you were saying here, the iPad mini is great for studying using the flascards method or you a type that always ‘on-the go’ student! But if you using the iPad for notetaking, it’s probably okay for some ppl but not for big hands especially ;)
