The explanation and breaking down the "Why" these were the reliability results was everything that made this video good.

Thank you! Finally someone mentions reliability! So hard to find that info it’s always about picture quality. Well if the picture quality is great but the tv only lasts a couple of years that defeats the purpose.

Thanks. It is so difficult to find reviews on Reliability. It is MUCH more important to me than the minute differences in image quality.

Your analysis confirms what I already knew from my own experience and research. In 2007 I bought the top of the line 50" Samsung LCD. It's still alive and kicking at my father in law's place (he loves it). I have a mid-level Samsung LCD from 2009, it still resides in the guest bedroom. Lastly, my 2015 Samsung JS9000 (4k & 3D) is also still kicking in the family room. My adult sons have purchased Vizio's, and TCL and regretted it. They now have Samsung QLEDs. OLEDs are great if you watch movies in a dark room. For those who watch live sports in a living room with a lot of Sunlight, OLEDs are a bust. But they are indeed very reliable.

FOMO I find myself being grateful once again for your channel. Reliability is so important because the real enthusiasts actually invest real money in this hobby. When you consider 1000, 1500, 2000 etc those are real numbers and value for that kind of spending is appreciated it would actually go a long way in fostering consumer brand loyalty, again thank you for this important information.

I just upgraded to a Q80T after 10yrs of owning a top of the line (back in the day) Samsung D8000 plasma. Never had a single issue with that plasma. Still produces a great 1080p picture and sold it on to someone else the other day. Also purchased a secondhand Sony Bravia and that's still going strong after nearly 8yrs of combined operation between me and its previous owner.
Nonetheless I've had my fair share of other electronic failures over the years, most notably a flagship Onkyo pre-processor that it and many other Onkyo models had a fatal flaw with it's HDMI board manufacture, that lead to these meltdowns. But touch wood I've been fairly fortunate when it comes to reliable TV ownership.
Glad to see all your videos back up!

Yep reliability matters to some of us.
Still on a Sony Bravia XBR52inch from 2006, Picture is still near perfect.
Was so expensive back then I think around AU$5500 or a bit less as it was in package with receiver but now looking at it, Turns out it was cheap lasting this long at less than AU$350 a year. ;)
The Sony receiver and the old Sony Muteki surround speakers are also still going good.

I still have my 19 year old Pioneer 50 inch plasma 720 p. Bought it just before the 1080p kuro became available. To this day, no burn in or image retention. Panel is still pristine and no dirty screen whatsoever. I can only hope my next tv will last at least half as long.

This was really helpful to me. Reliability is extremely important. I wanted an OLED but had no idea if it was as reliable as an Qled. Heard all kinds of problems with burn in. Since it turns out it's more reliable, that's what I'm going to buy. I've seen them, and the picture quality is stunning.

Thank you for including reliability as a consideration for choosing a TV. Your explanation and examples were perfect to explain the concept. I would have like to see the price range between the three categories to decide where to focus based on price difference. Congratulations on your excellent work and continue stopping the FOMO!

Im still rocking a Panasonic Plasma from over a decade ago. My sister bought a cheap Panasonic to put on the wall in her cafe, it's on pretty much on all day everyday and that's still working 14yrs on. It's survived all the steam and everything from the kitchen. You would have thought it would have rusted or corroded or something.

I bought an LG C7 OLED 3 years ago, and it's worked great from day one. No burn in problems at all. I'll probably keep it for another 2-3 years but I could see buying whatever the current model refresh happens to be at that time.

Good video, think we needed to hear about reliability of TVs over picture quality 👍

I still have a 14 years old 42" Panasonic plasma which is in perfect working order. Perhaps the fact that is made in Japan added to it's longevity.

10 yrs ago I got a 1080 Samsung tv with the new-ish DLP tech (It's the mirrors..)
Son of a 8itch died less then 4 years later. Pixels died all over leaving white dots everywhere. Ever since I've been more aware of these considerations. Thanks!

My 65" 2017 C7 OLED is still in brand new condition. So in love that I picked up a CX.

Reliability is very important to me, but being that new TVs come out every year how can anyone rank TVs that have not been owned for more than a year?

I have had a Sony Bravia 40”for 15 years. It doesn’t have all of the latest tech but still works great.
