Yet RTINGS have Samsung among last place in their reliability tests with the highest failures, not to mention One Connect box issues and myriad of quality control issues like misaligned HDMI ports and bent panels

be aware the low price on Hisense come with high risk of panel failure. I had one for 5 months and the panel developed a blue tint. The warranty service is also abysmal. they requested picture after picture of the set. they never sent out a tech, and made a determination to NOT honor the warranty solely on pictures. the set was never damaged or abused while in use.

I'm skeptical about the usefulness of that durability score. Samsung is the most popular TV brand so it has a lot of brand loyalty, but consumers probably aren't keeping them long enough to prove they are reliable in the long term or maybe they are failing after a few years and people are just assuming that's normal because they also buy a new phone every couple of years for a similar price. Throwaway culture and planned obsolescence have screwed things up. I have a 2012 model Samsung and it works perfectly, so I could say that Samsung is very durable, but we know that was a different era of manufacturing and doesn't translate to models sold today. Even the RTINGS longevity test has limitations. They can test the durability of components but they can't really simulate years of humidity cycles and dust accumulation and power abnormalities and other long term environmental impacts that can lead to failures.

I’m on my second top of the line qled 90d from a qn 90a. Upgraded to a larger size. Neither has given me any trouble and as I’m retired, I watch a LOT of TV. Fantastic picture quality.

My TCL 85 inch QM8 has been great. However, when it was first delivered and installed about six weeks ago by Best Buy, there was clearly a problem involving the panel (colors seemed off and brightness not where it should have been). The installer told me to call the next day if the problem persisted. I did and a new TV was delivered and installed the next day.

That quick response may have been a function of Best Buy’s service. But the new TV was and still is stunning! The 85 inch QM8 replaced a six-year-old LG 65 inch OLED. Maybe the difference in size simply made the viewing experience more immersive, and that made all the difference. But every day, my wife and I comment on how much more stunning the picture is! Perhaps a new 83 inch LG OLED would be better, but the cost would also be much higher. At some point, no matter whether I can afford it or not, there is a point of diminishing returns that can’t be overlooked. I think I may have reached it.

The ACSI website states that the inaugural year for TV data is 2022 and data collection period is July 2023 - June 2024 so just the models that were on sale fairly recently are used not 4-5 year blocks like mentioned in the video.

Most often failed TV in England? Samsung, and can't get parts Buy LG at least their parts are available
Looks like Samsung paid the most to be #1

Sorry. One other thing based on your rolling 5 year average.. I truly think 2023 Samsung TVs were the best they’ve ever made.. especially once you factor in all the “last years model” pricing. Going forward it’s all about hi sense, tcl, Panasonic!! 🎉

I bought a Sony Bravia XR 48 A90 K two years ago on Cyber Monday. Love the picture and overall build quality is awesome. Its considered to be in the Master Class series of Sony so some extra love was mixed in :). I cannot imagine a better TV. Sony did a wonderful job on the sound system that is built into it. I do not need a sound bar. My family has always bought Sony TV's because they just keep running over the years without issues. I have a 32 inch Sony Bravia I bought about 16 years ago. Still is in perfect running condition. Some of my friends that purchased the China made TV's (Hisense & TCL ) have ended up having to replace them somewhere in 3- 5 year of ownership.

My Sony 52" is still going strong after 19 years as is my X900F going on 7 years now. Before that I had a Sony rear projection TV that wouldn't die. I'm sticking with Sony TVs.

I Think people that buy other brands rate it high because they believe what they are getting is good for the money they paid. But if you buy an expensive tv you expect a great or excellent experience.

I voted for it, the s90c was arguably the best TV for the money ever made

Samsung??? No way!! Every Samsung item I've ever bought has failed prematurely (TV's, white goods). Sure they have lots of bells and whistles but dying early is inexcusable to me. Samsung products are just e-waste!! meanwhile my 12 year old Panasonic plasma is still perfect.

I know I had 2020 43 inch TCL picture dim quite bit which was replaced with a new TCL. I am hoping this was just bad egg, instead of a bigger problem with TCL TVs in general.

Well in the past i've bought 2 Samsung LCD TVs, one was good but the other one had big problems straight out of the box brand new. Something like this you will never forget with your next (U)HDTV purchase.

Last two tvs I’ve purchased was a Panasonic 65” plasma that was the top one. That one died on me after 4 years. Then this Samsung UN657150 that is 3D, 240 hz, LED. I’ve had it for 10 years now. It is still pretty good display. Now I’m looking at getting an OLED for ultimate clarity, colors without looking over saturated, and definitely ultimate black levels. My eyesight has declined slightly over the years, so I want to get the best to compensate, plus having a sweet ass display!😊

I just had my 10-month-old 65” Sony crap out on me last week. I always had good luck with Sonys. You can't judge a brand just because of a recent bad experience. I'll buy another Sony again. Mostly because of the Service. I called them about my problem, and they walked me through some reset procedures and immediately determined the TV needed to be replaced. Sent them some pictures of Proof of purchase and they agreed to refund my purchase price. No problems.
