How to calibrate the compass

My compass app shows direction using your device's sensor.

I had heard that several android devices had no magnetic (compass) sensor.
Please check your device specifications.

If the compass app pointed out wrong direction,
your embedded sensor was weakened or disturbed by external interference.

This video shows common instructions in order to calibrate it.

1. Rotate your device on the sensor's 3-axis.
2. Twist (wave) your device in a figure 8.
3. Touch a magnet near by your device.
4. Restart your phone.
5. Perform a factory reset.
6. Visit the customer center

i want to recalibrate a REAL COMPASS not my stupid phone. thats not a cpmpass. it will be usless on a two week long hike. a real compass please...Sorry smart tools. not Your fault i am just fustrated by the lack of REAL smarts nowadays. . .
