TRIP REPORT | A Not-Good Holiday Flight | Tenerife to Cologne | CORENDON Boeing 737

Corendon Trip Report flying onboard one Corendon Boeing 737 from Tenerife to Cologne on a beautiful winter afternoon.

My first time flying with Corendon Airlines and, honestly, I'm not looking forward to flying again with them in the short term. The experience was poor, but just because I was enough lucky to get 3 seats for me, despite the flight being around 70% full. Otherwise, the experience would be really bad.

The onboard experience is extremely outdated. The cabin, in the most apathetic white, is not the best impression when you board. All the msgs given by the crew were pre-recorded, which is totally fine, except if they sound like they were recorded 25 years ago.

The onboard service looked good at the beginning but when the moment of ordering something came, it turned out to be at the same level as all the other things discussed before: almost nothing that was on the menu was available for purchase. Payments by card were not accepted.

"Your holiday airline", that's Corendon's slogan. I'm sorry, but Corendon doesn't have any single aspect of what a Holiday Airline should have. Holiday airlines are Jet2, TUI or Condor. They make you feel you are on holiday from the very first step into the airport check-in area. Actually, already when you book the ticket on the website they give kind of that sensation. Corendon doesn't. At all. No way. At any moment.

'Avoid' is a bit harsh because you got a bad meal. If I avoided every low cost carrier because they served awful food I wouldn't be flying anywhere!

extremely poor experience? why? because of the bad food? flying nowadays is all about the food what u get during the flight. what do u expect from a low cost charter airline? always bring your own food with u, thats better and cheaper. of course the plane is an old one and not the modernest one. its like when u complain about ryanair, u get what u paid for. the main point from all the reviews u see online nobody thinks about getting safe from one destination to another 👎

Other than the (lack of) availability and quality of the food service, I'm not sure what would warrant an "avoid" label for this airline. Sure, there may be better options out there, but I wouldn't steer clear of them unless they gaslit me about something or were unacceptably rude.

You've captured some lovely views from your window, especially of the sky's changing colours. I would say that the service on most legacy carriers in North America isn't much better than what you experienced on Corendon. Yes, most of these legacy carriers still offer you a free soft drink and packet of pretzels or cookies, but their planes are just as old and otherwise their service is about the same as Corendon.

As far as I know, airline companies get their food service from a contracted company where they land. Maybe the company in Tenerife is making the food bad because I live in Turkey and I flew with Corendon airline in Turkey and the food there was good, maybe it was good for me. Have a nice flight🙂✈️

I flew Corendon airlines just a few days ago on their b737 on a flight from Dalaman, Turkey to London Gatwick which lasted around the same length as yours about 4hrs 15 mins and honestly, watching your video, got me a little worried about my flight, but actually it was really good service and overall flight that had met my expectations. Maybe the flight got delayed about 15-30 mins, but that wasn't their fault as the whole UK air traffic control system failed for quite a few days and lucky for me, my flight wasn't one of those 500 flights that got cancelled that day. Well done, Corendon!

Thanks for the video. To be honest, although I've never flown with Corendon, from what I could see on the video they were pretty much on a par with most (not all) short-haul airlines I've used these days. Lots of onboard announcements (which I find really annoying), bland and unappetising food (on some airlines no food at all - agree with you, that meat dish they served you looked awful), and just plain stressful. I used to love the whole flying experience including at the airports, but have been really turned off it by more recent experiences. To get anything like really good cabin service one has to pay extra (premium, business, first). If one accepts them as a 'bus service' to get from A to B quickly, they're just about bearable. But if I can, I much prefer to travel by train/ship these days.

Its a great airline i took it 5 or 6 times to go to turkey everything was fine, if you base your trip on the food even the big airlines serves you a shitty meal if you are lucky to get it for free lol as long its safe and cheep its good for me

I really cannot understand, why so much reviewers do all this bashing to the Corendon airlines. This is just a simple airline that combines low cost carriage adapted to holiday makers. Of course you cannot expect the best, but also not the worst. Compared to other low cost or charter airlines, they offer really good conditions for their price level. And in case of flight disruptions, they do better service than almost every other airline can do.

Debido a un mal servicio con Easyjet en Octubre del 2021 empeze a volar con Corendon. La ruta ha sido Tenerife sur a Basel y en todos los vuelos (hasta ahora 4 idas y vueltas) el personal a sido amable y atento. Personalmente la comida me la llevo yo y la bebida la suelo comprar o en el aeropuerto, o en el propio avión. El próximo vuelo con ellos, será pronto seguro!

Pues a mi me ha gustado mucho tu vídeo y estoy totalmente de acuerdo contigo. Al viajar tanto y tener tantas experiencias de vuelos, es normal y fácil que detectes un mal servicio.
