It’s all good….the HOA gave the fish a fine and they’ve quit until their attorney can find a loophole.

True Story. Years ago, I lived in a small brick house that actually had a concrete floor. Of course, the floor had carpet over the concrete, but anyway, I also had a waterbed. The house was about 2, 000 feet from a major interstate, 4 lanes in each direction for 8 lanes in total. Every night when I'd go to bed I'd hear music, as if I was hearing several radio stations at once, they also sounded as if they were fading in and out. After a few months I started getting use to it. I only lived there for 2 years. I moved out to the country, still had the same waterbed, and the the music or radio stations I was hearing every night stopped. I honestly believe sound from people's radio's in their cars on the interstate was traveling through the ground and concrete floor of that house and the water in the waterbed magnified the sound somehow. It was one of the strangest mysteries I've ever had in my life, but I'm almost certain that my theory is on to something.

Mating season comes around every year. Why then is this sound only being heard within the past few years?

I think it’s trout. Bass aren’t really partiers.

Do these people think everybody was born yesterday. If it was something from the fish, it would occur every year, or at least sometime in the past I mean, come on humans have been around that area for quite a while. If it was something natural, even the native Americans from that area would’ve had stories.

A submarine testing a sonic weapon using the drum fish for cover. Drum fish have mated for years. People have lived in Tampa for years. But the sound has only been detected in the last two years.

I think the fish mating theory put this reporter over the edge of ridiculousness.

It is happening everywhere, not just in Tampa Bay. It is not fish. It has been significantly colder than normal, especially in places that have a lot of water in the land, like Florida. It is quite simple to explain: as water cools it expands, if you have a piece of water logged land that is 60 degrees during the day and during the overnight the temperature drops to 45 that piece of water logged land is going to expand. Now it doesn’t need to reach the point of freezing to have this expansion, it also isn’t expanding by a huge amount, but it is still expanding. This expansion causes extremely small rumbles, and a non-tectonic seismic event. Nighttime is when people hear this sound because it is cooler than the day. Things should be warming back up for FL, and the noise will stop.

I do find it funny that people think they can hear a fish that is underwater all the way in their houses, I have heard some crazy things but that really made me laugh.

If you can hear them mating while underwater, 1/2 mile away, in your apartment, I want to be a drum fish in my next life!

This sound is happening everywhere…. I have been hearing it here in Washington State for a few years now… it’s really annoying… the first time I heard it I was camping and I thought it was a pressure thing in the fuel tank of my truck so I got up and took the cap off my fuel tank and I still heard it…. It’s very subtle… I hear it hear in the port of Olympia almost every morning around 4am… It’s really strange… it’s like a sub sonic vibration in a pulse…. I literally feel it in my eardrums… I’ve seen a few videos now online from different countries that people have been posting and talking about the same thing… Very odd…. This is one more report…. It’s not fish mating my friends….
