The Complex Sneakers Podcast is co-hosted by Joe La Puma, Brendan Dunne, and Matt Welty. This week, the three co-hosts discuss the Nike Dunk, a retro sneaker from 1985 that’s been huge in the past year thanks to SB collaborations and inline styles. But is Nike over-saturating the market with the shoes or should they keep making more? The co-hosts discuss their personal history with Dunks, current resell prices, and some of their favorite pairs old and new. Also: Joe gives some teasers on the next season of Sneaker Shopping, Welty relives his wild weekend, and Brendan comes back from vacation.

Complex, make your interns make timestamps with the topics throughout the episode

Y'all, we need more episodes with just the trio. The banter is awesome.

I like these episodes when the guys just sit around and talk about shoes instead of having a guest

The problem with recent dunk is the quality.
It's terrible.

They need to be easier to get, GR’s shouldn’t be so limited

Just dropping by as a retired kicks seller to honor the “who says know” as a time-tested undefeated classic. So many lay-up’s.

Hate to say it, but loved this more with the casual convo without a guest. Editor clutch too

The Civilist Dunk is my favorite Dunk from last year, because it’s my favorite Skateshop here in Germany where i also won a raffle. Second Place might be the Sashikos due to it‘s easy wearability.

If you start looking online you’ll see dunk/sb prices coming down. I’ve seen pairs that were $600 last year down to $280-$400. I think the market is overwhelmed for resellers and they’re buying up stock but not moving it fast enough. I can’t imagine anyone going back and buying a pair of Community Garden or Civilist dunks in a year or two.

My only own the Kenny Powers Sb and the gray first Medicom collab. With the exception of the Gulf of Mexico and Cinco de Mayo I don’t think I could see myself buying another pair.

3-4 years ago no one would of cared and these dunks would of sat on shelves. But Nike tactically planned this. It takes well over a year to produce a shoe so they're intending on doing this and this was the plan

I remember the Sperry boat shoe era! They were cool for a hot minute.

Always takes me 2 days to get through these, but they NEVER disappoint!! Thx guys!
You should have a “Check-in with Trinidad James” for 10-15 or other famous pop-ins. But I’m a huge fan and appreciate you guys sharing your knowledge

So I definitely had the Sperry topsiders Jaws collaboration as well as Vans boat shoes in rotation during that summer
