COMP Cams® Technology Explained: Cam Timing

preview_player
Показать описание
The camshaft is often referred to as the "heart" or the "brain" of a performance engine. This is due to the dramatic effect that valve timing events have on a four-stroke internal combustion engine. This Technology Explained video shows users the effect of each valve event, and how to tailor those events to the requirements of their specific engine application. Important cam timing terms such as Intake Opening, Intake Closing, Exhaust Opening, Exhaust Closing and Overlap are covered as well.

Great explanation thank you; however going a bit fast over each step.

Very informative, and simple thank you COMP Cams

good video, but she talks far to fast to understand what is happening. I had to go back quite a few times to listen again

Good video, don’t know why everyone is complaining tbh

Nothing about reversion. The exhaust stroke pushes the exhaust gasses past the intake valve then drawn in back through and mixed with fresh air and fuel giving the engine rough idle. But at hi RPM things happen so fast it works to move pwr up with no reversion.

Nice but the will make more power at higher rpm? well not if compression has become too low from intake staying open too long.

How about a more detailed video and explanation on how cam lobe Centerline effects fuel mileage. Why is there not more attention paid to fuel mileage camshafts and how to obtain fuel mileage. Clearly NASCAR notices such detail. There's an abundance of information on how to make more power. I mean it's crazy when you have 10 different camshafts splitting the same hair of capturing added horsepower. Yet on the other end of the spectrum, no one's considering the economics of such. How about doing a video and being the first to address the subject?

do yaw have any vids of doing a gt500 4 valve modular engine as far as phasing and degree process for comp cams?

That's valve events hey. Cam timing is where you index the gear.

when should i adjust the valve clearance and the right timming or what cycle? when the exos valve start to close? or the intake starts to close?
because my kawasaki fury125 is loss of power when i throttle it

If I run a com cam I time them straight up, or call them an talk to them about what your building 😎✌

The pace of this video makes it useless. The animation is a cartoon, also useless. Good intentions, but I guarantee 100% of the audience was lost by the 10th second.

The commentary of this video should be done by an engineer, so that emphasis on important parts can be further explained and paced to allow understanding. It's obvious that this commentator wouldn't recognise a camshaft if even if she tripped over one

whats the Facebook page? I didn't find it
