To answer the questions I always get from people:
I know a little Dutch, and I continue to learn each day, but no, I'm not fluent.
Yes, I'm an immigrant. I use expat and immigrant interchangeably but on YouTube people search for expat. I do my SEO research.

Just found your channel. We are from Texas and have been here since 2016. The 2 lives is certainly a struggle!

Hi Jessica, nice video and very good information 👍
Salary is paid either on a monthly basis or every 4 weeks. You can’t choose, it depends on how the employer does it.

Stumbled onto your channel looking for a video with wheelchair accessibility in A'dam.

(Was born in NL but lived all over the world since age 2.)

I had a 100% paralyzed boyfriend for 16 very happy years, and he loved to travel to NL, especially Amsterdam as everything was already accessible back then (nineties +).

He was 6'8" and I am 6". I was able to pull him up with the wheelchair up to 12 or 15 steps. He hardly ever allowed me to as only weigh 55kg.

We will be allowed to travel again somewhen, so most already make plans in the Internet.

Couldn't find any short videos of the small elevators at entrances of the old buildings / houses / bars / restaurants nor hotels in Amsterdam.

Some in the US have those inside their houses, or to lower themselves into a temporary waterproof wheelchair and the swimming pool.

See :
Roll with Cole and Charisma
Squirmy and Grubbs
(she can lift him)

There are so many others, especially VETERANS whose life might brighten up. It's already miserable enough.

Thank you for at least reading,
Esther.❣

FYI, in front of the Hermitage the waterway is not a canal. It is a river (as far as I know the only one in Amsterdam, all other waterways are created by mankind and therefore canals) called the Amstel.

This is very interesting information! One thing I am wondering about is if any of the jobs expats apply for where Dutch is not required if there are benefits or rewards if a new employee will earn if they take Dutch classes in the first year? Although I'm not planning to move to the Netherlands, I am wondering if that is a possibility?
