Well the myth about Austrians being laid back and warm was spread by themselves so… it’s like a “nice guy” telling everyone he’s a nice guy, they never are nice.

For me it's the excessive smoking. I live in 1210 and it's disgusting when I go out for a walk or commute. They smoke everywhere including on bus/tram platforms. There is also too much litter even in parks hanging from trees. Drink bottles are lying everywhere in certain districts. That was the "cultural" shock for me.

The last girl must understand that yes, it takes 10 minutes, PER PERSON. She's not the only one who needs those services! Appointments make sure you don't spend the whole day waiting your turn.

Austrians have tough facades but are pretty easy to crack. Definitely my favorite Europeans. The average millennial and Gen Z Austrian is super intelligent, but also have a good sense of humor. Germans on the other hand.... Jk.

being told every day that I am an auslander. Sometimes just passive agessively: "you know there are too many auslanders here"

Did they think he was going to read the whole book? Seems like a good way to lose business.

To me Austria was always a culture shock when we drove from Slovenia and the gas stations felt like it was 1950 and the amount of people smoking, also especially smoking inside (which was still legal not long ago in Austria). But otherwise Austria is nice and the people are normally friendly.

Goddamn I miss India - practical, to the point. Also, love the Irish - sweetest people in Europe!

I didn’t find Irish that all warm, this is the biggest myth.

I am shocked that these people are shocked about those things. All those "shocking" things mentioned in the video make sense. Their expectations aren't.

People who read books in bookstores irritate me. Nobody wants to buy a book that you mauled.
