Teachers are being told what to teach, what not to teach and it gets worse. Teachers have almost no freedom to use their creativity anymore. Also the students are faced with unacceptable work loads of SEVERAL different curriculum items all crammed into one day every day. During these times, reading, writing, arithmetic, fall behind and there go the basics. This is because learning has far to often become a political football, the political candidate spouts "we need to fix education". And unknowing public voters agree and the students fall behind because the government dictates what the curriculum will be, while at the same time adding more and more to the students workload until the students are burnt out and so are the
