Idk why any bi person would be so pressed about pans??? Im bisexual and i find the fact that pansexuality has that trait of it being REGARDLESS of gender helps me feel more secure in labelling myself bi, because i know that gender plays a role in my attraction because i feel attracted to different genders in different ways and find it intriguing that people exist that feel attraction very similarly but also much differently in a more nuanced way.

As a pansexual man I think that is the best way to describe it. I really don’t care about the persons gender. It’s who they are

Labeling is a personal choice. No controversy.

I remember back when I was younger (12-13) I identified as pansexual. During pride month I was playing on this game called ponytown, using a pansexual pride character. At some point, this mob of bisexual people came over and started harassing me and my friends, saying I was biphobic simply for identifying as pansexual, telling me I needed to read the bisexual manifesto, and that because I was more comfortable with the pansexual label, I was actually just experiencing internalized biphobia. And that’s just the SUMMARY of what they said. They were extremely mean when I had done nothing to provoke them except have a pansexual flag on my character.

It was upsetting, ruined my day, and made me feel invalid for expressing myself on a platform I liked. Not to mention, I was JUST starting to understand and explore sexuality. So it confused me even more than I already had been before. It was hurtful rather than educational, even though they claimed to just be trying to “educate me”.

Now that I’m 17, I do identify as bisexual, but let it be known that was by MY experiences and self discovery, not because some assholes told me I was something that (at the time) I wasn’t.

Pansexual people and bisexual people need to learn to accept each other, and realize that in the end both sexualities are just labels that they slapped on to themselves to help categorize their feelings. And that’s okay! Everyone is on their own journey and neither side should try to dictate anyone’s identity but their own.

Definitely a generational thing. My husband and I (near 50) identify as Bi, out of 5 kids we have 2 straight and 3 pan. My hubby and I both agree we’re more pan but have identified as bi for so long we’re just more comfortable with that. Way back in the day we both dated as being sexually attracted to everyone but emotional attraction was mostly same sex. We’ve also discussed non binary. We don’t know our exact titles we just know we work great the way we are. And with each other is the only time we’ve experienced positive opposite sex relationship. My bi people just need other bi people idk. Maybe we just all need to love blindly.

As a pansexual person, thank you so much for clearing that up and combating both bi erasure and pan erasure 💖💛💙

As a bi person that is attracted to all genders, gender still is a main factor for my attraction. This is the best way to understand the difference

I took a few sexuality tests, but the explanation from this man is what has helped me the most, and I thank him for that.

A classmate asked my table what pansexual is. I told him it that it was Bi Premium

Thank you! Not alot of people realize that it's more about what lable you feel comfortable expressing yourself as. Bi is a real thing, pan is a real thing. And they are different, but in more subtle ways not "black and white" ways. And even if they were "the same thing", it doesn't matter. If you feel more comfortable identifying as pan that's great and Visa versa

As a bi, I totally see the difference. I have a type for genders, a pan person wouldn't. Although this also doesn't mean we don't care about personality, we do! We just care about other things too.

As a bi girl, all my pansexual friends are welcome and can use any term they want 💗💗

Whenever I'd try to go into the pan fandom of Instagram, they would always hammer in the "bisexuals only like two genders, pan is hearts before parts!!!". It felt like calling bisexuals transphobic due to that, so it did make me a little resentful towards the pan community because of that loud minority of them who painted bisexuals as transphobes and changing the definition of bi to fit their narrative. I have pan friends and I've learned about the actual definition of pan, and I understand and accept it. It does suck that we have to fight with eachother instead of sticking together and fighting against the ones that want us all gone, all because of misinformation or miscommunication.

As a pan, I feel bi in the same way a square is a rectangle but not all rectangles are squares 💕

Bi means two and pan means all. That's literally what the words mean.

My brother is pan, he often explains it as "It's like bi, i just don't care about the plumbing."
