The problem is Skip is so established he has to keep his stances forever i.e. pro Jordan Brady Cowboys, anti Lebron, Rodgers, Floyd etc. So they need to find a cohost who's anti everything Skip is pro and vice versa. It's much easier for them to take a popular athlete with no sports take history and essentially force them to have certain takes to always go against Skip.
