I’m in W Canada and I pay CAD$40-60 an hour for general labour outdoors (landscaping) and still have hard time getting anyone. Plumber CAD$ 110 to show up for minimum 2 hours (so CAD$220 plus tax=250) even though he takes 20 minutes and the maximum commute he does in our neck of the woods is 30 minutes. I have been begging 3 plumbers for 2 weeks now to show up change 2 outdoor faucets… I’m not sure if I’m the unreasonable one here :(

Because a job that would pay for a house, car, college, and food can now only barely pay for 2 of those things. Workers are discouraged because things are too expensive and work pay hasn’t come close to catching up.
