RNA interference (RNAi): by Nature Video

Показать описание
RNA interference (RNAi) is an important process, used by many different organisms to regulate the activity of genes. This animation explains how RNAi works and introduces the two main players: small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) and microRNAs (miRNAs). We take you on an audio-visual journey, diving into a cell to show how genes are transcribed to make messenger RNA (mRNA) and how RNAi can silence specific mRNAs to stop them from making proteins. The animation is based on the latest research, to give you an up-to-date view.

I can't begin to describe how much I love the kinesin/dynein marching along the microtubule :D

An idea: A netflix ~8 episode series touring the interior of a cell, with David Attenborough narrating, with all the same storytelling that goes into Planet Earth.

These types of videos really need to start revolutionizing the world of education.  For those in university study trying to understand concepts like RNAi, videos like this bring our boring text explanations to life and really enrich the process.

Loved it!

Perfect animation. Thanks! Sometimes it's complicated to just read about a process so dynamically regulated. Seeing it that way makes all the difference.

This video has to be the best one on Youtube for this topic. It manages to pack in all the correct terminology, clearly and concisely, while being accompanied by fantastic animations. I will definitely be recommending this video to my classmates! Thankyou!

This video is amazing! It's so rare that you find a bio animation that has really fancy animations, and also _isn't_ just a rehash of something that's already been done hundreds of times on YouTube before, like DNA replication or something. Thanks for making this so easy to understand!!! :D

Why don't we have this type of great animation for like all the stuff?

The universe is infinite. And even the inside world seems it too. Brings a new meaning to being alive.

Very cool. Students are very lucky to have these visuals. Much easier to understand than a school text book. YouTube is more of a learning tool if used correctly.

At 3:54, the cleaved mRNAs are degraded because they are missing a poly-A tail or 5'cap, respectively.
