This old person had a 2016 Chevy Cruze which was just fine but the wife had trouble getting in and out of it since it sat low. I found a 2022 Buick encore gx select (middle trim) with 6k miles on it for 23K less 9K for my Cruze. The Buick has done a good job no problems easy to drive averaging around 29 mpg and has plenty of go when needed. It's comfortable and feels good to drive. My sister in law bought the Tucson about 3 months ago, and she is beginning to regret it, electrical problems has started and the dealer can't seem to fix them. She was going to buy a Chevy equinox with the 2.0 turbo and 9-speed but they are in short supply and she couldn't wait for one now she wishes she had waited. To each their own but based on this list anyone would be able to choose the top ten listed no matter their age.

Seniors like power and reliability, like the Lexus GX 460 V8 power and reliability .. They don't care for turbos, CVT's and Batteries...

When my parents were both alive one of them drove a 2008 Ford Expedition and the other drove a 2013 Ford Edge. They did also have a 2002 TJ Jeep.

Anyone, regardless of age, who needs a compact SUV (cross-over) should be considering the Tucson Hybrid, Escape Hybrid or Rav4 Hybrid. All of these are relative fuel sippers. If you have family you'll want the safety features of these modern features and the fuel consumption is just the icing on the cake. Personally, as my 70th birthday approaches, I'm happy with my Rav4 Prime, Lotus Exige R and supercharged, V6 Toyota MR2.

IF your included the large Telluride for the older folks. The VW Atlas is also a better SUV. Rides like a luxury SUV and steering is a dream. This SUV has great amount of room for grand kids and just is a very confortable and easy SUV for anyone to drive.
