Seniors don’t need 3 rows of seats and don’t want to have the 3rd seat sitting on the garage floor. Seniors only need 2 rows and plenty of room for groceries etc.

Bought new a 2019 Forester Sport. Meticulously dealer maintained. Left me stranded 4 ( four ) times in the middle of the street. Taken back to dealer every time. Eventually dealer replaced battery under warranty. Eventually also “ found excessive carbon buildup on several components “.
Not happy at all. Car had less than 23k miles.

Couple in late 70’s. My wife was having a lot of pain exiting our sedan with low profile tires. Her therapist recommended we switch to either a van or crossover. We got a new Venza. My wife is pain free entering and exiting.

My Subaru Forester Touring is the first vehicle that I’ve ever owned that I can leave the rear seats up when my wheelchair is in the back.
This is HUGE for me.
The traction, safety and reliability of my Forester gives me peace of mind.
My rear seat passengers love the reclining heated rear seats and I love the heated steering wheel.
Everyone compliments the saddle Brown Leather interior and how comfortable the seats are.
The Forester is the perfect size for me.
My wife likes the size of my Forester more than she likes the size of her Outback.

Great review ! Lol back in the day seniors loved to drive full-sized sedans like the Mercury Grand Marquis, Cadillac Broughams and Oldsmobile Delta 88/Buick LeSabres .😊

You totally messed up the Toyota Highlander info mixing engine info between models. As a 74 year old owner of a Highlander Hybrid, it is flat out awesome. Never have used the 3rd row, and often have the 2nd row down also, fantastic cargo room! Yes some seniors actually do things that require that. It is rated at 35 mpg which beats all the competitive vehicles, but I'm getting 37.7 mpg average with my 2021.

I’m a senior. last year, I ordered a rav4 .than I was thinking why should I be so practical and responsible ? This could be my last new ride. So I changed to a cool Tacoma. you should see the look from young guys, I’m sure they were starring at me not the beautiful shinny truck. 😅

Senior 70+. Just got a Highlander Hybrid. A bit bigger than the RAV, 3 rows but will leave the last row folded down most of the time. 4 captains seats, lots of room for luggage, and 45 mpg. Very comfortable, but a bit small compared to our last rides. Odyssey van and F150 crew cab are much roomier.

The best for Seniors is the new Toyota Corolla Cross hybrid, a naturally aspirated engine with electric motors, is functional, reliable, and delivers great gas mileage. It's not for families per se, but works perfectly for two people (like seniors).

All Corolla Cross hybrids are powered by the same powertrain, which consists of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and three electric motors; all-wheel drive is standard, and the powertrain makes a combined 196 horsepower. Assembled in Alabama at the Mazda/Toyota factory. Yes Mazda and Toyota have a partnership agreement and this plant is huge.

I have a 2018 Nissan Rogue (the reason I am looking for a new car) and it has been a reliabilty nightmare.

Iam 66, been a proud owner of a 2014 Escalade but seriously thinking of updating to the 2024 Lyric.

The Honda PIlot has the greatest width between wheel wells...wide enough for a sheet of plywood or two extra large dog boxes side by side.

Seniors do not need a third row! Also the Subaru Outback is an excellent car for all drivers.

All I really should say is: We had a 2014 Outlander. Loved it for almost 10 years. So decided to buy a new SUV. Researched all that I could think of. And when I added up all the choices, "including where the dealer is". Since 2014, the Mitsubishi dealer has provided excellent service. (And what struck me most was: Oil change, etc at the dealer was $20 cheaper than the local privately owned car shop.) So, adding all factors together made the new Outlander the choice. 2023 was slightly cheaper than 2024. And from what we could see, they are pretty much the same. And yes, we paid a bit more than expected. Since we chose the SE to get the cameras and adaptive cruise control, etc. Safety is another huge factor. Last, the engine - this gas powered is the latest improvement by Mitsubishi - bullet proof! So all I can suggest is to test drive one and see what I'm so happy about! (I do not get any rebate or kickback from the dealer. Just a satisfied owner.)

For this senior citizen price and feel economy my top choices are Subaru Forrester, Subaru outback, Toyota RAV four and Honda CRV

Why is there no mention of the Pilot's VCM system which in effect will shut down the engine to 3 cylinders when cruisin down the interstate. With a system like this Honda Pilot could just be sold as a 4 cylinder turbo..convince me othewise...

I would think that if money was no object, then this video is not for them. If money was critical, then again, more research will be necessary. But if you want the highest quality for the dollar spent, then that's why I recommend the Mitsubishi Outlander SE, about $35K MSRP. That's more than I wanted to spend, but the Honda CR-V was showing more than that. And Honda only gives a 2 yr warranty. Please take into consideration what that vehicle will cost over the next 10 years. And also, like I've been saying. Where is the dealer? How good is the service.
Some people feel they never need the dealer for service, but in my case, the dealer's charge to change oil was $20 less than the local sources, both car repair and quick change oil. If you really want to save money, change your own oil. And how many seniors are going to do that? My overall cost per mile/including all costs, insurance, etc. was lower than expected on the 2014. Those are some of the reasons I chose what I did.
