Best Drill For An Effortless Golf Swing

If you're looking to build an effortless swing this is the best drill you can be doing. This drill takes your arms out of the swing. This is the first step in building an effortless golf swing.

Once you get the arms and hitting out of your swing you then speed it up with your body. If you have been hitting with the arms for years how do you ever stop hitting? Well, you have to take it down to nothing.

This drill is difficult for most people. I don't think any student who has ever come to me has ever been able to do this on the first ball. If you find you are having trouble with it keep doing it until you can do it. This might take a few buckets, a week, a month etc. Whatever it takes keep doing it.

Once you master it you have successfully take your arms out of your swing and you are getting used to the feeling of the effortless swing. It is at this point you can speed it up by driving your lower body harder instead of hitting harder. You do this and you will finally hit the ball to your potential. You can do it.

If you would like some free samples of my book and video series that takes you step-by-step through how to build a powerful, effortless, pain-free golf swing then please go here:

Paul, this is probably one of the best golf videos I have ever watched. I went to the range today and tried this, could not believe how easy it was to make great contact and how far the ball went. In fact, it was working so well, I decided to take it to the course and shot my best score of the year. I was crushing it off the tee and my irons were true. It even helped when I was chipping. Best of all, carried my bag for 18 holes and my back didn't hurt after the round. Brilliant!!!

I may have loosened up too much, I let go of my 7 iron and sent it flying 30 yards into the driving range! :'D

I started playing when I was 14 years old (20 years ago). I was one of the longest hitters in my group, but was inconsistent, out of 100 balls I could not hit more than 20 or 30 with a good and swift feeling. Due to time constraints I had to quit the game at 20 years old. My final playing handicap was 21 before I stopped playing. About a month ago I started playing again and I thought I would never get my old swing back and the nice feeling of hitting a ball without feeling "the wack" every time I struck the ball. I found this video 3 days ago and gave it a try today at the practice range. I have to be honest, I almost cried out of happiness when I managed to hit at least 45 out 60 balls with a pleasant feeling. Best of all, I managed to hit my current driver; since I got my current driver, at age 17, I had not hit it as I did today.

I want to thank Paul and his team for making this video, great job!

Thank you Paul for saving my golf life and my back! My back started to pain because I was trying to hit the balls so hard with my arms that it was hurting m back. Then I found your videos and I started doing your drills about two weeks ago. At first it was tough to let go of the sensation of hitting the ball hard, but the more I practiced a relax, loose wrist swing, the further and the better I hit the ball. It's amazing how effortless my golf swing became the less I try to hit the ball hard. Now I just tell myself to relax, use my body, loose wrist and do not try to kill the ball with my arms. My back pain is gone. Thank you! Keep up the great work Paul!

started using your method and tips this year. Only been able to play 4 rounds so far and haven't been able to practice it on the driving range yet. Just wanted to say that you have completely p*ss*d off the other three guys in my weekend foursome. :) We all used to drive the ball within 5 yards of each other pretty consistently. Now I'm out driving them all by 20 plus yards. Eventually I'll point them to your lessons but for now it's too much fun with them trying to figure where I gained the extra yards. Can't wait to get to the driving range to do some fine tuning and try to pick up a few more yards. Thanks for the lessons.

Let me tell everyone! I have been using Paul Wilson's "Easy Swing" for the last two years and I have been playing the best golf of my life and hitting it farther. Listen to him! It makes perfect sense. Take a look at Ernie Els swing, he does that same thing. In fact, when I stray from Paul's teachings I get in trouble. Those arms and shoulders want to get back into it. You have to tell them no! Thank you Paul Wilson! You are the best!

Spent one day at the range this past week trying this.

Walked 9 this morning and hit every fairway and green in regulation.

Felt AMAZING! One of the better rounds I've ever played. Can't wait to get out again.

Hi Paul! I met your dad in KW area last year. He was so proud of what you do, and what a great swing he has!! He was driving well.

Paul, wish I had known about these drills 30 years ago. Played a lot in my 20s, but I was terribly inconsistent and gave the game up for 20 years. Bought new GI clubs a year ago to give it another try but almost gave up again ... until I found your videos. Cannot believe what these drills have done for my ball striking. I honestly take the easiest swing that I can and the ball flies off the face and lands where I am aiming at least 75% of time now versus 33% (at best) before. A range session of 100 balls used to exhaust me, and my arms would be so sore, (especially my fingers!) the next day that I couldn't play again for several days. Sure I still hit bad shots - who doesn't -- but far, far fewer bad shots than before. My Handicap dropped from 30+ to 20 this summer (my short game still stinks), but golf is FUN now; in fact, it is addictive when you can hit the ball high and far, CONSISTENTLY. Can't thank you enough!

I found this video a few days ago. I literally dusted off the cobwebs on my clubs last night and went to the range and I was actually able to hit a few after 4 years of not swinging a club. This is by far the best advice I've come across. Thank you.

Hi Paul, I watched this video a while ago, tried the tip and couldn't really feel it, you were right, this was hard to do so I quickly stopped. Today after warming up I gave it an honest try again....slow down!! I slowed things down, full swing, 2/3 power. For me, on this first session, I had about same distance results (or better on a couple) as when I was 'trying to hit it hard and far' except for one thing, they all went straight! 3 in a row, 5 in a row, 10 in a row. I couldn't believe it, it felt so easy. I was almost in disbelief! Great great tip! Thank you much for posting!

Paul I can’t thank you enough for this video. Time and time again I come back to it and remind myself how to get my clubhead speed back to where it needs to be. 2 years ago I went to get fitted for a new set of irons for my birthday and could barely break 92mph. Today I’m doing this drill in my living room hitting balls into a net and am struggling to get BELOW 92mph lol! What an amazing difference this drill can make when done repeatedly over time. Now flirting with a single-digit handicap at a 9.2 index the last review...just need to get that long ball in play a little more often! Thanks for the videos!

I just started playing again after a seven year break from the game. Started going back down the range and was getting nowhere. I found Pauls videos and progress has come back into my game. I go out and apply the easy swing and find it works great even if my putting lets me down. The difficulty for me is im a victim of my own success because when i start to hit the ball well i get over confident and start to hit it to hard again. Not using the arms so much is hard but Paul is right and this works, thanks Paul your tips are helping me a lot

Paul, started doing this awhile ago and worked a treat but began to bring arms into swing again. After watching your videos again it reminded me of what I needed to do!

Back to swinging my arms with my body with crazy good results again. It is bloody simple. My arms just go along for the ride again. No thinking about backswing or forward swing again. It’s just bloody so natural and effortless like you say!
