I was having what I thought was hernia pain, and your advice about pushing it in is what guaranteed I had one. Gave my mystery pain lump a push, and 3 inches down it went. Thanks for the advice, I can definitely sleep with a ton less pain now.

Great info doc, how can someone know for sure if they have a hernia and what type of hernia they got. Do they need to do a scan?

When i was born i had two hernias of the ovaries. Now looks like i could have a femoral hernia. Not sure i can wait for the scans because the pain jas become so debilitating

Is it possible to have a hernia without any bulge? I moved a couple of really heavy boxes in a compromised position, which caused some pretty bad sciatic nerve pain. The sciatic pain is 99% gone but I still get intermittent, dull to mild aches around my belly button pretty frequently. No bulge though.

Could this be a hernia?
