With meagre resources but a great heart for the cause of Islam, it was the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, led by Khilafat that was able to build the first mosque in London. Despite a mosque fund exisiting as early as 1910, it was not until His Holiness Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmad - the Second Caliph, undertook this task that the London Mosque came into being.
