A independent documentary by me of Ronnie Spector

Ronnie formed the singing group with her elder sister, Estelle Bennett, and their cousin, Nedra Talley in the late 1950s. They were signed to Phil Spector's Philles label and he produced the majority of their recording output. The Ronettes had a string of hits in the 1960s, including "Be My Baby" (1963), "Baby, I Love You" (1963), "(The Best Part of) Breakin' Up" (1964) and "Walking in the Rain" (1964). After Ronnie married Phil in 1968, Ronnie temporarily retired from performing.

I first saw Ronnie walking out onto the stage in the Brooklyn Fox theater to the drum beat of “Be My Bsby.” Swaying her hips to every beat of the drum, mesmerizing me. I and many of the other boys in attendance became her baby. I never did have an opportunity to see her again, yet I know deep in my heart I was her baby, forever. RIP

Looking at that early interview, you'd have no idea that Estelle faced such major struggles later in her life. I was truly stunned when I read about that when she died.
