Показать описание
Ronnie Spector is an American singer who rose to fame in the 1960s as the lead vocalist of the girl group The Ronettes. Born Veronica Bennett in 1943, she grew up in New York City and began singing at a young age. In 1959, she formed The Ronettes with her sister and cousin, and they soon caught the attention of record producer Phil Spector.
Under Phil's guidance, The Ronettes became one of the most successful girl groups of the era, scoring hits like "Be My Baby" and "Walking in the Rain". Ronnie and Phil also began a tumultuous personal relationship and eventually married, but their marriage ended in divorce.
After the Ronettes disbanded in the late 1960s, Ronnie embarked on a solo career, but struggled to replicate her earlier success. She also faced personal struggles, including battles with addiction and an abusive relationship.
In the 1980s, Ronnie made a comeback with the help of her friend John Lennon, and she continues to perform and record music to this day. She's also a vocal advocate for women's rights and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
