Beloved lead singer of the Ronettes, Ronnie Spector died on Wednesday Jan 12 following a brief battle with cancer. She was 78 years old.

Ronnie Spector’s voice permeated souls and burrowed itself there as a memory. One can’t hear her voice and mistake it for another. The powerful delivery with a hint of grit separated the idol from the rest.

"Be My Baby" - My favorite rock 'n' roll song of all time.
R.I.P. Dear Ronnie, you brought much joy to this teenager in the '60s.

My dad was a fan of hers so I grew up listening to her. She had such a beautiful, unique voice. Rest in Peace and sing with the angels.

When I was 9, I wrote to by grandmother that I had a new record called Be My Baby, and told her I was playing it all day! I'm still playing it. Thank you, Ronnie and the Ronettes. That unique voice and sound will not be forgotten.

She seemed like such a great person who genuinely loved entertaining. And of course her voice- every bit of it came out so naturally even into her golden years. I was actually singing be my baby in the shower yesterday and then last night my boyfriend told me she passed. I was so sad. I just admired her so much! God bless her and her family. She had real talent without the nauseating ego you see everywhere nowadays. One of a kind!!!

I remember Ronnie fondly met, and got to hug her, when she attended one of my lawyers' funeral in 2019. I've written what some call dowop classics, one which she said is her favorite : "I'm So Young"! Recorded by many artists as well on her great " VERONICA/ RONETTES" album in the 60's!! R.I.P lovely, beautiful one we'll miss you always.

Count as a posthumous fan. Now that I know she did stint with the E Street Band I must have a listen.

Macy Grey reminds me a lot of Ronnie Spector.

THE WORLD IS A LESSER PLACE WITH RONNIE GONE. A BEAUTIFUL LADY WITH A BEAUTIFUL VOICE. THEIR MUSIC HAS BEEN A PART OF MY LIFE FOR 50 YEARS. RONNIE AND HER SISTER ESTELLE FACED ADVERSITY IN THEIR LIVES BUT RONNIE OVERCAME AND CARRIED ON. I MUST SAY THAT I'M SORRY THAT SHE IS GONE. BUT I MUST SAY THAT I'M GRATEFUL FOR HER MUSIC THAT HAS BEEN A PART OF MY LIFE FOR SO LONG. I HOPE SHE KNOWS THAT SHE WILL BE MISSED BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN. REST IN PEACE VERONICA 💔
