In episode 30 of Project Binky we take a look at the power under the bonnet: the engine. It needs a cambelt, and oil change and nothing else... Honestly...

Day 4609 of the government covid 19 lockdown. Project Binky is now on permanent play in my den of safety. I have drunk enough tea to float an ocean liner, the 2 female survivors who live with me are wondering why I'm standing by the microwave and shouting "make the noise". Brackets are now becoming a way of life. I must go, episode 1 is calling me again.

That sketch with Turbo Yoda was absolute GOLD! P.S. Love the build! I've been watching since day 1. My Dad has owned and built so many Mini's I've lost count. I'm 23 now and hope to own my first Mini soon

After that cutaway to Al, I was expecting him to show up halfway through the episode by busting down the door with turbo in hand

35:30 was that seriously a 1/2 drive breaker bar on a 5mm allen head?

Simply brilliant.

As a “Cranky Yank” who has done his share of engine rebuilds in the 1960s-1970s timeframe (Petrol, Diesel, NG), with over-boring, planing, etc in Texas barns, garages, oil fields, and shops, I must say that build and engine are so tightly synched it would probably start and run if you kicked the exhaust pipe!

Highest regards for your work and droll humor, but don’t quit your day jobs for music-hall comedy just yet! 👍👍👍👍👍

OK the turbo Yoda cut away was amazing.

Excellent tip about TDC and the fact that a piston will "hover" at TDC for a few degrees of crankshaft rotation; the assembler has to compensate for that. Understanding that relationship is the difference between being a true technician and a dealership 'parts installer'.

And Richard's explanation and the visual of how to do that is the best that I have ever seen or heard. He and Nik are what I would call 'critical thinkers'.

Seeing Turbo Yoda making a cameo and then doing the ending made my already perfect day (due to Project Binky coming out) into an exceptional day. Nice work as always guys and thank you for the entertaining and educational content as always

I actually laughed out loud when I saw Turbo Yoda and then again at the end with Allen and Woody showing up holding and open manual and a cup of Tea (Lemon Squash I'm sure). I really wasn't expecting that one.

That's got to be the most emotive I've seen Al so far.

Waiting 5 years for a “Dad Joke” shows extreme patience. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I had a suspicion when those pistons didn't look very high compression... brilliant!

I knew Al and Woody would eventually be featured in one of these episodes...
