Project Binky - Episode 1 - Austin Mini GT-Four - Turbo Charged 4WD Mini

In the first episode of Project Binky, we take a rotten old Austin Mini and strip it down to a bare shell. We then take an angle grinder to it and cut it to pieces. It's only then that the customised rebuilding process starts.

We're trying to create one of the fastest Minis on the planet. We're going to rebuild it with the engine and running gear from a Toyota Celica ST185 GT4. Or at least that's the plan. Whether it comes off or not is another matter. We're filming this as it happens so what you see is only a few weeks behind where we're actually at so we're not sure yet whether we can do it. That's kind of the fun though.

Stick with us through the highs and the lows of the project. Hopefully it'll be worth the agony and cash.

Feel free to share it far and wide!

Thanks for watching.

I find it somewhat poetic that 7 odd years later when we finally find out what colour they are going for, it’s more or less the same bloody colour. Love it.

2:16 in and he already said 'for how ever many months' and here we are over 9 years later literally almost a decade, people have been conceived and born and watched the full series before it's completion.. Nick hasn't aged at all and is still his funny self! Maybe he would have aged if it took months to build.

Just think in a short 6 years, 4 months, 8 days the panel gaps will have been all sorted.

"They say it can't be done. They might be right. We'll get in the workshop and have a go." And what a go it's been. I feel happy, and proud, to have been given the privilege to watch this happen. And we're not done yet! <3

Best build show ever...  about a thousand times better than those stupid manufactured-drama reality TV build shows on every fucking station.  Looking forward to the rest.

Who else is here to binge watch the whole series for the 2020 lockdown?

Today is December 24, Christmas Eve, 2019. Just watched episode 28. Getting ready for paint! When you started this project I had a full head of hair, single and no kids! Today I'm bald, married and got two kid! Wow! I've enjoyed every moment and today's episode I watched with my son who loves Binky! Great job men!

In the time since I first watched this episode (within days of its release, believe it or not. A happy coincidence with looking up some Celica stuff) I've been married and divorced, had a kid, moved across the country several times and changed careers twice.

Good show, lads. It's been a blast.

When you're ready to start up Binky for the first time with the GT-Four, I still want to hear this: 1:39

One day, bored out of my skull, about 6 ears ago, I was hooning around YouTube. I came across some car thing. ''Project Binky ep3.'' I clicked on the video, and watched as two mates chopped and modded a mini. Perfect! right down my street. Happily I watched ep1 and 2. I noted the copious use of the ''marks and sparks'' type trolley, yet I don't live in the UK. Well I did, and hooned around supermarkets in a juggernaut, but that's another story. I have to thank these to mates, as I have watched ''Project Binky'' from start to finish about 10 times. I'm bored again, and here we go. Number 11. Thanks guys for several years of classic entertainment. Oh the kettle is missing from the rolling credits, in Binky P1 outtakes. Gordon Bennett!! More Tea!!!!

Raise your hand if this is the fifty eleventh time youve restarted watching the series before the next episode drops

I started again. Just to grab the joy of having a new episode, in five years time.

I'd like to thank Doc of Doc's Machine for introducing me to this wonderful series. I've nearly choked on my coffee twice this morning laughing.

With Binky in the paintshop, I thought it was a great time to come back and rewatch the entire series, even though I already watched all of it half a year ago

I'm just now finding this channel, and I have to say this is great! Love the idea, and you guys seem to really know what you're doing both in the shop and behind the camera.

Looking back to the start of this project in 2020 it only serves to highlight the incredible amount of foresight displayed in the build.
Watching craftsmen is always like watching magic to amateurs. This is no different.
B.o.m. are fantastic.
