Awesome video! Smartphone will always be the most convenient but my GoPro has always been my trusted travel camera. Great audio/video quality and way better durability. 👍

For video obviously the GoPro wins, for photos obviously the Galaxy wins

I'm done with action cameras... The final straw for me was getting my isnta360 go 3 and their crappy app not working on my 5 year old smartphone and being left with a brick until someone done it for me on their phone.. Made me think what is the point of a stand alone camera like that if they force you to buy a decent phone that has a way better camera. so next time im just buying a phone with good camera and be done.

This is like comparing a motorcycle to an SUV...Do you REALLY need a motorcycle anymore? Nah, you never did...unless you like riding motorcycles, because it's nothing like driving an SUV. One is an action camera for getting dirty, wet, hot, cold, going fast, etc. The other is a communication device that you wouldn't want to strap to a helmet to climb a cliff with.

That photo resolution on the S24 Ultra is absolutely insane.

The Samsung images are disappointingly soft, but the GoPro isn’t good for shooting anything. Except fishbowls. The fisheye is strong with this one.

I just got back from an 8 day cruise and 4 days in the Keys. I took: Note 20 Ultra, GoPro Hero 11, DJI Mini 3 Pro, Panasonic G95, and Insta360 One RS.

I think action cameras are necessary for any beach type vacation. 1. They let you leave the phone in the car. 2. They can take a beating. We jumped off a couple of waterfalls in the DR and you can't do that with a phone.

BTW, my most used camera was the One RS. Even though the Hero 11 had better image quality, carrying around 2 cameras in one was crazy convenient

I prefer the GoPro videos, they look more aesthetically pleasing 👏🏾

It would be interesting to see the mock-up of the S24 Ultra with a wide angel lense equipped vs. the GoPro 12 Max lense mod 2.0

Bottom line is which one is cheaper with the added needed accessories perhaps?

Different uses and strengths, no "winner" or "loser". My husband likes when everything including the background is sharp. Conversely, i think it's too harshly sharp. DSLR lenses offer Bokeh. I think with these two, the Samsung has much better image quality. I have a Samsung S20Ultra, Gopro10, an older Nikon D5100, and a Sony ZVE1. Each has their best use. I use my phone the MOST. When out and about, I use with a folding gimbal. The Nikon for nature photography because of their amazing lenses. The Sony for Astrophotograhy (large sensor great for low light) and studio video. Gopro has worst image and very limited functions, but when on vacation, wanting to walk in the rain, or dip in the ocean to shoot marine life, just fun portability, or attaching to my car, GoPro is the ONLY option(sorry DJI pocket 3...not waterproof). Each is better for different uses.
