As soon as he says "exercises" with the rabbit ears, it's time to warn anyone you live with that extremely strange sounds are inevitable for the next 20 minutes

Oh my god, my neighbours can't stop laughing, but I don't give a fuck, this is super helpful and fun! I'm reaching that thicker voice little by little. Thanks as always, Chris!

Video game grunting voice-over at 3:39 😂
In all seriousness, this was a great video. Very useful tips.

Oh dear, it took me almost 3 years (since this video was released, basically) to fully grasp what is happening in this lesson and how to exactly replicate it and FEEL what's going on in my throat/voice. But I think, I finally got it. :')
Mastering the voice is such a journey for me. But it's surely worth it!

3:39 pretty sure i've heard this exact noise sequence in about 5, 000 different fighting games.

Your teaching is so incredibly effective for several reasons... First, you break things down into manageable chunks that anyone with the basics or better can work on without ever feeling overwhelmed, then move onto the next chunk. Second, you're extremely encouraging but realistic. Anyone can do this stuff, but you'll have to put in the work. Third, you've made it not only okay to sound ridiculous while working on this stuff, but expected, because you lead by example. "If he can do it on YouTube where it'll live forever, surely I can do this in my office or car." The more I've watched your videos and taken your class, the more I realize how uncomfortable I was in the past with any sound coming out of my mouth that I didn't think was pleasing. I've learned that to discover what sounds pleasing, you have to work through a ton of stuff that doesn't. From warmups to exercises to performance. It's not all going to be pretty. Not only is that acceptable, it's a necessary part of it. Embrace it.

This wasn't a screaming lesson, but I experimented with these exercises and it's helping me to scream properly FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER! It sort of happened by accident!

Your Cornell covers are awesome. Your voice is incredibly close to the real Cornell take. If I heard it without the video, I would assume it was him. Killer cover at the beginning, great tune.

The opening song is Burden In My Hand by Soundgarden in case you're looking for it to practice.

Man if remaining members of Soundgarden wanted to tour you are like the only person who could pull that off.

I've gone from choir boy, to nothing, to gritty open mic-er. Your videos, the few that I've watched, help me alot. Thanks for your amazing content

I have lived a few decades in life and I still can't believe that we are getting these for free.
Knowledge should be free
Thank you Chris Liepe! Mad respect for you!
Edit: Could you also do a song cover for the Soundgarden song that you did in the beginning? It's too darn nice not to be known!

I love that you teach based on how singing should "feel" and how that translates to experiencing progress and finding cool new sounds in my voice I never thought existed before!

Dude how did I just go from an A4 as my top note never understanding a mix belt only singer to hitting a F5 (on end of viva las vengeance) without any head voice (very tough but the C5 easy as could be even with vibrato and its powerful I'm not disappointed with its power at all) . I'm legitimately in shock, of course I have no idea how to use it and like no dynamics or control but holy shit it's like my entire life just changed, 24 hours ago an A4 was my top note. What do I do next, binging all your mix videos, your approaching to f scales and just make noises is absolutely pure genius. Thank you for existing

Have to say I haven’t finished the video yet… But I’ve already tried your thing about using the stomach compression from “the old man voice “in your mixed voice and head voice, and it’s already making a huge difference! This is going to change everything for me. Thank you so so so so much! What I get from this is that it’s not really about using more chess voice in your mix in order to achieve “chest“ mix. That’s really a misnomer. It’s just about using your mixed voice with more compassion. That makes so much more sense.

Wow Chris, you've opened up a range of colours and textures I didn't know I had. This makes so much sense. You've explained and demonstrated this so well I was able to grab it and run with it. It's also got me supporting my breath better. This will be added to my practice schedule. You are da man!
