Yes, I always said that anything nice given to me by the narcissist was like a carrot dangling with a string attached. I would pay in the long run for accepting the gift.

The last guy I dated had money and he did shame me for being a single mom. He was condescending and entitled. Deeply insecure. He had nothing to offer except for money. No amount of money is worth selling your soul. Needless to say, that interaction was very short lived.

Just want to tell this to anyone who is suffering from narcissistic abuse right now, it will get better. You just need to not lose any hope in the process. Getting over the narcissist is hard because what we have for them is so real that it takes every ounce of strength to get lose. Eventually the new life starts and it’s so so sooo worth it. He remembered every single thing he bought for me. All the jewelry, any clothes, etc. Great memory for that. He couldn't remember the things I bought for him, I didn't ever throw that back at him. They are truly unbelievable

Anymore, the moment I detect any fakeness at all, I remove myself from that relationship. People who don't wear a mask are chill and relaxed and never try to influence or control you. They keep to themselves and don't feel the need to demonstrate their personality for others.
