You want to get into radio control soaring, you're researching discus launch gliders (DLGs)/F3K gliders, F5J electric gliders or other composite RC gliders and keep coming across the term 'layup'. What does it mean? We'll walk you through what layups mean, give a brief overview of previously popular layups, and a guide on the current options available for our ArmSoar Deviant 1 meter DLG and BAMF 2 DLG.

Resources / What I Use

I hope you find that useful! Just so you know, ArmSoar may collect a small share of sales from the Amazon links on this page. It does not increase your price but helps us keep making good content!

Thanks Thomas, good video and explanation.
I'd love to see a fuselage and wing manufactured at the factory too?

I'm looking into getting a Hawk 2 DLG, and on the website it says it uses an "SC" layup, do you know what that is?

Very informative, thanks. Are the tail feathers are typically the lightest layups (CW20 or fiberglass)?
