Funniest thing I saw someone post is that the glider should have performed a missed approach and done a go around. I cried laughing...😅😅

Fun fact, this is in La Cerdanya, Spain and the exact same plane crashed into the exact same bushes this spring again, just coming from the other side.

You can clearly see that no air brakes were deployed before touchdown. I'm a glider pilot: we deploy the air brakes on final and we don't close them until we stop. Consider that the wheel brakes are usually activated with the same lever, so you're supposed to use the air brakes during the whole landing procedure.

This pilot almost recreated FedEx 80 crash 💀💀💀

Yeah, you really can't call that a "crash landing."

I’m a Commercially licensed pilot... Let the plane do what it wants to do whilst you are reading its responses to the weather conditions and your control influence just gives it positive suggestions to turn the airplane into a ground plane. Nothin’ to it!

It's not a crash.... Its called falling with style... And bouncing a few times 😂

Commercial glider pilot here. That is a Grob 103. Those have a tendency to porpoise on landing when the pilot modulates the spoilers. You can see in the video that the oscillations are tied to the spoiler extensions. The spoilers are operated by a lever on the left side of the cockpit. When the lever is unlocked from the retracted position, it has a tendency to pop open. Because of this, at one glider school that I worked at, pilots were taught to land with full spoilers so that pitch is solely controlled by the elevator and then the pitching due to spoiler movement is eliminated. At another club that I flew at, they taught pilots to use half spoiler and hold it there to avoid the pio.
You can see that the pilot is solo. If there had been an instructor in the rear seat, they would have taken the controls and fixed the landing.

Bro said "skill issue" in the politest way possible

My instructor says “dont let the airplane land” essentially just keep pulling back until the plane stalls at the exact moment the plane touches the ground.

In the Glider world we call this The Bunny Hop . It is indeed a highly desired maneuver which combines the elegance and beauty of gliding and the pure thrill of a roller coaster . This pilot actually performed it perfectly .
