One thing hasn't changed. The Mustang memes.

biggest thing, cars are "trendy" now, people buy them without true appreciation because of clout, not because they want it.

Social Media is literally the reason for everything not being as good as it once was: car culture, music, relationships, friendships, you name it and social media has ruined it, or is beginning to.

Funny thing is, it was already over in 2014. late 90's- early 2000's was legendary.

Born too early to explore other planets
Born too late to experience proper car culture
Born just in time for Talk Tuah podcast

2000s car culture, 2000s car mags, 2000s car games > everything else today

Nothing beats the early 2000's, not just in the car scene, but any scene. Everything was just better and a lot more enjoyable back then, back when people did things for the love, not the likes.

Nothing like the 90’s and early 2000’s

It's all just too expensive. I make over six figures and i just cant justify spending $50k+ on a 4 cylinder hot hatch or $60k+ on a Mustang GT. The fun fades really fast when the price of entry is so high.

The whole point of many of these cars was having a lot of fun for not much money.

The used market is even worse. Everyone claims their car is "rare". Everyone demands top dollar. It's just not fun anymore.

I mean not only it got worse everything is soo expensive or overpriced. Social media has also gotten people comparing their builds/life styles to their own. It’s taking the joy out of everything.

Price of cars has killed car culture. The cars we grew up loving are only obtainable for a few and used as a collectible people can brag about. It was a hobby almost anyone could get into but now it’s just too expensive.

I remember as a young teen back in the early 2000s id walk into the performance shops while my mom got her nails done and I'd buy hks decals, greddy ones ect. Those years were the best

Man the 2014-2017 era of car culture was lit. I even remembered the car scenes in 2004-2009 when civic si turbos were taking over the streets out running mustangs and corvettes. This 2019-2024 era has really lost their way mostly because of social media. Everyone wants to be famous for crazy stuff takeovers, and destroying expensive sports cars. This isn’t the way.

As someone who used to be a huge car guy that has shifted to the motorcycle scene, i feel like that's where most of the gear heads have moved to. Yes you find the random hot head at a meet and someone is always talking trash on others builds/bikes, but it feels just like the old car meets before all this nonsense started. we all hate electric as there is 0 use case for an electric motorcycle as a daily bike and most of the community is extremely helpful when it comes to needing help, as most of us have been down and out before. There's nothing like being stranded in the middle of the highway due to a flat or out of gas on a bike and a multiple people ask if you need help as at one point in time we all will need the helping hand to get us going again. Do i miss the car scene? Yes, absolutely. would i go back? No. The friends I've made and the places I've been on a bike have truly changed how i see how man and machine can be one.

One things for sure.. You have been a staple to this culture bro. And we all love you for it. Growing up as a kid watching your videos was always an inspiration for me.

Nowadays you'll find car enthusiasts at the track and ATTENTION enthusiasts at meets.

Takeovers ruined it for many and the culture surrounding those activities
