About Dude Dad:
Hi! I'm Taylor Calmus, a Colorado-based actor/comedian. I started Dude Dad© two weeks before my son Theo was born as a way to stay creative while learning to be a father. My wife Heidi and I now have 3 kids and over 300+ videos. My purpose for the channel is to entertain, enlighten and inspire.

PS, LOVED the Dear Diary, Ooops. Taylor you had me belly-laughing on being Heidi with that awesome wig. Please bring it back. We only had two, one now a Civil Engingeer and an Organ Transplant Team RN. I loved those chaotic years while working full-time.

I think Mom just got very lucky with my sister and I or she just blocked the memory of sleep training though she does remember potty training very distinctly and likes to remind us about it all the time even though we are now in our thirties. Granted, we lived in a three-bedroom house, so we each got our own bedrooms. She did say for the first couple of months we slept in bassinet her and Dad's bedroom because of nursing, but after that it was our own crib in our own bedroom. She said she said goodnight, turned out the lights, and we were fine maybe waking up once a night to nurse. Maybe because we didn't know they were there or else like I said were just lucky or the fact that we were 100% milk drunk when we went to sleep. Though, it was a miracle we survived sleeping in that thing. It was Mom's crib from when she was a baby in the 1950s with bumper pads, blanket, stuffed animals, and everything else we aren't supposed to have except a pacifier and to add to it my sister was born in the era of putting the kid on her stomach to sleep as a newborn. Mom didn't realize newborns spit out pacifiers so she tried with my sister who spit it out and then didn't try with me, so we were thumb suckers for a long time until someone put my arm in a sock and pinned the sock to my nightgown to cure me of that.

I tried sleep training my baby once. It took 15 minutes of her crying until I realized this was not for us. But I am glad I tried because after that I knew that anything was better than her heartfelt crying. I never changed my mind about this.
