This isn't complicated, the 2080 was around $800, the 3080 is the same.
As JayzTwoCents has pointed out, The key piece of information to pick out from all of the FPS results, is that you are getting near enough the same FPS at 1440P that the 2080 managed at 1080p. That's the takeaway, it's a native resolution generational upshift, without even turning on DLSS.
This is an arguable upgrade for even 20 series owners with real tangible performance benefits.

Such an awesome video as I upgraded from a base 1080 to a EVGA 3080 and it's a generational leap to say the least. Even VR has been so much more enjoyable. Great stuff man.

Very good review and comparison between three generations of GPUs. It's absolutely amazing that RTX 3080 is 2-3 times faster than the GTX 1080! Those graph results makes it very tempting for me to upgrade from my current 1080 Ti.

Towards the end, you were concerned about us being bored... Definitely wasn't! It was an informative comparison review that kept me interested the entire time. Keep up the good work.

Great video man! Still rocking my 1080 and I feel like it's performance has been perfectly fine with every recent game I've thrown at it. Marvel's Avengers looks incredible and I'm looking forward to seeing how Cyberpunk 2077 will look as well. A part of me wants to upgrade but I feel like I can hold out at least a couple more years. Thank you!

I currently have a 1080 and a 1440p 144Hz monitor. Is it worth getting the 3080? or 3070? I might upgrade to a 4K monitor but not anytime soon - maybe long ways down the road.

Now this is the type of comparison I've been looking for. Show that old standard of 1080P, as well as, the better resolutions of 1440P and the goal of 4K. Looking forward to when you get a 4000 series to compare a RTX 2080 (What I have) to those cards.

It wasn't until I played RDR2 that I realized how old my 1080 was getting, been with this bad boy for years and always trusted it but my heart would sink when I'd try playing with high settings and seeing my FPS struggle to stay above 50. It served its purpose like a champ and I'm not selling it, I'll keep it as a souvenir but I got my eyes on the 3080 now. Can't wait for that feeling again where you can easily crank up the settings as high as you want without a care.
