Goldberg has his own style for sure and was a great performer. However, Bret Hart is in a different league.

Goldberg on his best day, couldn't lace Bret's boots.

I agree with Stevie Richards, Brett was hurt way early in that match and he just kept taking bumps. At some point you just have to admit you're human and call for an earlier finish. Then maybe Brett doesn't tuck his chin and take that kick to the temple.

Two things happened prior to that kick. I forgot the other one but the other was when Goldberg had Bret locked in the figure four on the ring post. Goldberg was supposed to hold Bret's legs to stop the force of the fall, but Goldberg didn't causing Bret to hit his hard on the mat. The damage was already done, but the kick was the final blow

Bret has been kick many times in his career yet he blamed Goldberg only but not kicked he absorbed in his opponents in many matches. Those accumulated kick can develop into severe injury. Like many boxers that punched or knocked out they develop head injury

If anyone noticed Goldberg limping, his ankle was injured by bret hart and he couldn't deliver the kick properly leading to Bret Hart's injury and early retirement, so it's not 100% Goldberg's fault.

The kick actually didn't look that bad or stiff. We have had much brutal kicks in wrestling. Brett was unlucky. But Goldberg was nevee considered a safe performer. We see real kicks and punches in MMA. They don't lose their career after a real fight which have real knockouts.

The bigger issue with brett was that he crashed his bike and wasn't wearing his helmet and hit his head which caused a stroke.
