Reminds me of how I was late into my sophomore year of high school (couple months before lockdown), was in P.E. jogging through our daily 2 mile run, was never the fastest kid in class due to my crappy stamina but I honestly didn't care. At the end of my first mile and first lap of my second, I heard my name being called as I was running up the bleachers, I turned and there she was hanging out with a couple of her friends. I waved at her and full on sprinted my last 3 laps and damn near needed life alert after my final lap, couldn't breathe normally for a good 10 minutes and sounded like Darth Vader, but I lived. Got a cheer when I broke the sound barrier next to her class which just kept me going, of course we never became anything more than classmates due to me being too chicken to ask her out, and the fact that I'm me, but I know on that day she had no eyes for anyone but me. And that's it the end.
