Nothing like 2000s early internet horror. Best decade.

So, 153 people took out their eyes, and then sent it to youtube? Thats some talent.

For the catacombs one, it is very easy to start to hallucinate when you are that frightened so the man could have been running from nothing considering nothing crossed the camera when he dropped it. The man also could have thought he saw something considering how dark it is down there so those possibilities are very likely.

I don't think there was anyone else down there in the Catacombs... I think he just freaked out, dropped the camera, and was too scared to stop and go back for it. ( _If_ the footage is real, that is.)

2000's internet was such a creepy place

Imagine just getting your picture put in a normal survey related to your job and then some random dude makes a scary video with your face that goes viral 😭

I love the fact that the density of graffiti on the walls are a measurement for how deep you are in the catacomb‘s labyrinth. The depth and darkness are like a filter of fear, where fewer and fewer people dare to continue to go forward before taking a U turn. The absence of graffiti as some kind of Void-O-Meter.

How does one send their eyes through the mail if they can’t see what they’re doing 😂

2000's was an epic time.
Internet was more free and less controlled by big companies...
I miss this era.

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel more relieved of their fear of these videos knowing the backstory? I've had a subconscious fear of these videos since I watched them back in the day but getting exposed to them and then getting some kind of context just helped me feel better about them.

These old classic horror videos from old YouTube are great! The feeling of emptiness is strange, but at the same time, I feel nostalgic for watching these videos when I was little.

15:34 Somehow after all these years, you're the only person that has come up with an actual reasonable answer to this. Thanks for actually being rational and doing your research. Also great content in general.

The hole shown at 1:02 is where I crawled in to gain access to the catacombs in 2016. It's almost entirely mapped by cataphiles, not just 1%. There is a special police unit patrolling the tunnels. They sealed most of the entrances, the ones they know about, with heavy gates and padlocks just to still be able to access.

The Reddit and YouTube horror era was epic because the way how these creepypasta are simple but create a haunting and curios enviroment is spectacular!!

How was anyone ever scared by the story attached to Mereana Mordegard Glesgorv? Holy shit, I just laughed my ass off at "gouged their eyes out and MAILED THEM TO YOUTUBE", I'd completely forgotten that detail!

Early internet had some of the best horror. The best parts were not having any context for most of them.We only guessed and our imagination made them even scarier

Well...the reason the robotics professor made creepy music videos like "I feel fantastic" is because the videos he made got infinitely more attention than they would have if they were just normal tech videos

Tara the singing android is a straight-up internet legend. Wouldn't be nearly as famous without the videos.
