Honestly it's really cool. Both visually with his black hair being in the SSJ shape, and the fact that he's so strong in his base he didn't NEED to go full SSJ to beat the villains in hell.

Honestly, the idea of learning how to tap into a level of power that’s supposed to be beyond your current physical form, without actually altering said physical form, makes total sense as a power progression plot.

I always figured this was the next route that would be taken post-Z, even if SSJ4 was ever canonized; sure, it’s nice to have God Ki forms, UI, Ultra Ego, SSJ4, whatever, but all of those push the body to change, and put stresses on body, mind, and ki that just don’t exist in “base” form. Thus, learning how to tap into those powers without needing to transform would be a massive boon to all involved. Sort of like how Broly could tap into Oozaru without actually transforming, even though he still bulks up some and gains colored iris.

I like to think of it as False Super Saiyan but with more control and less rage, kinda like Full Power Super Saiyan, though obv not as strong

It's concept is similar to the Godlike Saiyan state in my opinion. Using the power of both SSJ and SSJG in base.

Both it and the form in the Lord Slug movie were the result of errors. In the latter case, it's because Super Saiyan wasn't finalized yet. Kind of weird but also cool that Goku has a golden aura, but his hair is Kaioken glowed.

Vegeta actually uses this technique briefly vs Broly in the 2018 film. His aura turns gold and he over powers Broly without going full super saiyan.

Honestly I like the idea of goku or vegeta utsuper saiyan ki while remaining in their base forms it makes it more like they have full control over their super saiyan ki and is part of their mastery over it, now of course it wouldn’t necessarily be as powerful or as strong as full ssj probably at most half its power but it could prove useful if goku and vegeta are low on energy and can’t use ssj like how in the Moro arc their powers were drained or they go against an opponent that’s stronger than their base forms but weaker than their ssj forms. I’d also like to think that super saiyan god has somthing similar like with what we saw in dbs broly when goku was charging up to transform into ssb as he briefly had red spiked up hair and his aura became yellow and green so maybe it would look like an in between variant of ssg and ssb (albeit the hair doesn’t change colour as he’d have purple hair which would make it a bit too similar to ultra ego)
