Plato’s Closet Employee Steals Over $20,000

On September 14, 2022, In Charlotte County Florida law enforcement officers were dispatched to a local Platos Closet in response to a reported retail theft in progress. Following an investigation, it was concluded that an employee had devised a scheme to defraud the establishment, resulting in the theft of over $20,000

My first job was at Taco Bell. They would do cash back for people by just tacking 20$ on to the total and giving them 20 from the register. I did this for every person that paid with a card and racked up a couple thousand dollars. I only got caught when people started coming up to the store with the bank statements. I was charged with grand larceny, misuse of a personal id, among other things. It cost me and my family way more than I got from it and im still paying for it 17 years later when looking for a job or an apartment. Think about the future people. Temporary joy is not worth a lifetime of pain paying for it.
