Custom ROMS were only good back in the day when Android needed all the help it could get. Since then, Android has come a long way on its own, and even manufacturer layouts such as One UI have made the experience so much better that they should pretty much be how stock Android is. On a Samsung phone for instance, using a custom ROM will break a lot of useful and important things like Knox Security, Samsung Pass, Secure Folder and many other things that actually matter that it's just not worth it. Most people would rather trust and care about the overall backing of a large scale, full-fledged development team than some niche features in custom ROMS that were made by some dude. This is from someone who used to be "flashaholic", constantly looking out on XDA for another ROM to try out. It was fun but at the end of the day, they're just never as good and reliable as the stock ROM of your phone and are pretty much a waste of time nowadays.

i rooted my lg optimus S and my lg optimus V when google stoped signing in on android 2.2 froyo both have android 4.4 kitkat now lol and i use them for music i want to try putting android 10 on them but i havent ever made a custom rom before and i have alot to learn lol it will be a mess but seems like a fun project they still make android tablets with 2gb of ram so i mean it should run on 512mb of ram lol
