I talk about what is considered a complete/finished project! Sorry for my broken english in this video, I kind of just spitballed most of it.

I think, the most important thing to have while working on any project. It's to have fun in the process, which is easier said than done, I know. But it truly does help.

One of the best unfinished animated films I’ve seen is the thief and the cobbler.

I think something else to consider is to know when to scrap a project. I was trying to animate something, but I had been working on it slowly for several months and realized how much in over my head I was. Rather than forcing myself to continue, I scrapped the project and went back to the "drawing board" with a better perspective on what I could accomplish without burning myself out.

I like how you discuss how animations can be defined as finished. With my two short films done, I think I'm going to continue my ambitious project where I feel like it's I'll either finish it or I'll die whichever comes first. But I've tried to make it less overwhelming by saying I'll finish Episode 1 first and then worry about the rest later.

i had planned to upload an animation last week, from a 50 sec animation i made, but i didn't finish the last like 20% of it and i didn't touch it in the last 3 weeks, maybe i will consider it "Finished" lol

😊 I thought this was very great advice! As a beginner animator, I do get stressed out when I can't complete projects I intend to do, so I have so many animatics/rough W.I.P.s on my YT page. When I do try to finish an animation I am passionate about, it takes 8-12 months to do 😱 I also try to set deadlines for myself, but I seem to never get it on time because of life(work, home, etc.). I do what I can and when it's done, I will finally post it and watch 1 year of my life go by in a 1 minute animation LMAO 🥲J/K. But anyways, I just wanted to say thank you for the advice on this video and all the other videos you have done, Toniko :) I hope to get into a school to get a degree one day, but for now, these are my passionate personal projects :)!
