I hope you found this video helpful on how to make yourself stand out in the college application process. Believe it or not, the coronavirus crisis is actually the perfect time to begin your passion project. Because when everyone else is bored and chilling at home, you can be doing something productive, interesting, and impactful. I also go more in-depth in this video on my passion projects--my economics book and my international organization. I think I touch less on the specifics of starting an international organization, so I can talk more about that in a future video if requested. This is so helpful! Any recommendations for starting an independent project from home? Due to the coronavirus I probably can’t carry out some of the passion projects I wanted to start during the summer (free tutoring program for refugees/kids in low-income areas; free science camp for kids in low-income areas;etc). Now I’m pretty stressed since I have to apply in the fall and probably can’t start these :/

Great advice ! How do you advise people not to only create passion projects/organizations solely for college apps. I’ve seen too many projects and organizations that were great but when the student got into college, they completely drop/abandon it.

I have a YouTube channel for children's read alouds and it's doing pretty well, but I want to be in STEM. Is it okay if my passion project does not correlate to my major? Or would it be a good idea if I started a STEM segment for kids where I read children's books about stem to help nurture the passion from a young age? plsss reply I love your advice.
