But despite being one of the greatest warriors and Jedi killers in history, Kenobi dispatched of him relatively easily. The first reason is because Obi-Wan was a master of the defensive lightsaber form Sorsesu. In the novels, Dooku says he mistakenly trained Grievous to be too aggressive. Later on, Dooku kept trying to re-train Grievous to be more conservative with his attacks.

Dooku was trying to teach Grievous that raw aggression wasn't enough to beat the very best Jedi Masters. That Grievous had to slowly grind down Jedi Masters, make them tired, and then break them.

Dooku was telling Grievous to not make risky attacks that leave him vulnerable. To focus on being precise, making Jedi tired and sloppy, and then strike at their openings. And That Grievous could outlast all Jedi in a test of endurance.

But Grievous refused to listen and kept throwing all his power into aggression. Making big powetful attacks to try to kill Jedi quickly, but left him vulnerable to counterattacks.

Dooku gave up telling Grievous to change his style, and swore he would train future generations not to make the same mistake as Grievous.
