Having the American manufacturing industry collapse in on itself and giving cheap overseas labor the green light was one of the biggest mistakes we made here in the West.

I love how they always have the markings on the flash chip lasered off 😅. It's also amazing Amazon allows this

If it's too good to be true, it probably is!!!
PS- *REALLY* accurately fits the definition of a "Data Dump"!!! 😂

I mean, you're kinda right.
A: they did have 1TB flash chips in 2022, they had them even before 2022.
B: that's a perfectly functional, off the shelf 1 or 4 or 8 GB flashdrive with modified firmware to make them appear as a larger capacity. The controller isn't bogus, it works perfectly fine with normal firmware, same with the flash chips.

yeah this is a super common scam and it sucks, but lets not misrepresent the situation, I could make a 16gb SanDisk show up in windows as a "69 petabyte black hole drive" or whatever else I want, it's not a super special drive or anything.

I got a 1TB Kingston DataTraveler Max for $85, that's realistic and quality. Always do some market research and price comparisons when buying something you have no clue about.

Happened to me too. I knew I took the risk though, when I ordered it for extremely cheap from aliexpress ;)

Thanks for the tip. Could be difficult to tell up front, since there are also legit ones i assume.

Btw, have you heard about getting rid of opensourcr maintainers from other countries by law just recently ?

Someone has to be crazy if he/she thinks a 16TB USB for $10 is real. Don't buy it.

Okay... Or just naive to think that could happen. Sorry, no, there's no way that'd ever happen.
