Joe Cocker - Into The Mystic (written by Van Morrison)

Live in Berlin , Germany September,3 1997

Lyrics :

We were born before the wind
Also younger than the sun
Ere the bonnie boat was won as we sailed into the mystic

Hark, now hear the sailors cry
Smell the sea and feel the sky
Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic

And when that fog horn blows, you know I will be coming home
When that fog horn whistle blows I've got to hear it
I don't have to fear it
I want to rock your gypsy soul
Just like way back in the days of old
And together we will float as we said into the mystic

And when that fog horn blows, you know I will be coming home
When that fog horn whistle blows I've got to hear it
I don't have to fear it
I want to rock your gypsy soul
Just like way back in the days of old
And together we will float as we said into the mystic

We were born before the wind
Also younger than the sun
Ere the bonnie boat was won as we sailed into the mystic

it's a true tribute to the song, how majestic and perfect it is, that when it's covered by other singers, there is very little difference to the original.

I love Joe Cocker. So glad he covered this lovely song and he did it so beautifully Wonderful instrumentation that perfectly captured the mood of the song. Again, Joe's demonstrates his remarkable ability to make a well-known standard his very own. (Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, we're waiting. Where's Joe?)
