Lyrics :

When the road gets dark
And you can no longer see
Let my love throw a spark
And have a little faith in me

And when the tears you cry
Are all you can believe
Give these loving arms a try babe
And have a little faith in me

Have a little faith in me (x 4)

And when your secret heart
Cannot speak so easily
Come here ,darling, from a whisper start
To have a little faith in me

And when your back's against the wall
Just turn around and you will see
I will catch you,I will catch your fall
So have a little faith in me

Have a little faith in me (x 4)

Guitar Solo :

When the road gets dark
And you can no longer see
Let my love throw a spark
And have a little faith in me

Have a little faith in me (x 4)

I've been loving you for such a long time, girl
Don't you know,my love?
To have a little faith in me
And you know time, time is our friend
Yea baby, have a little faith in me
What will I do woman?
What will I do woman?
Aaaaaaaaaa....Have a little faith in me
Yea,baby,it's never too late,
Yea,baby, have a little faith in me

John Hiatt’s original version is the purest and most authentic because of what inspired the song.
Many have covered it but his version comes from the heart.

Ja was soll man sagen? Er hat mich mein Leben lang begleitet musikalisch natürlich, und das größte war für mich mit der 250 ETZ nach Dresden zur heutigen Cocker Wiese. Es war schön verrückt aber unvergesslichen. Danke Joe!!!!

Joe had a knack of bringing out the best in a song. Mind you, this song written by John Hiatt is sublime.

One of, if not my most favorite Joe Cocker songs.
And also take note that he has always had the best back up singers of anyone in the music industry.

This is a masterclass in soul. His passionate performance, the two Sisters, the killer band and the perspiration ....all but murdered the crowd. I would have loved to see this. The song, by Hiatt, is an underrated word masterpiece !

When Joe Cocker or Aretha Franklin covers a song, close the book on that song. It's not gonna get better.
