Does Chalkboard Paint by Rust-Oleum work?

I'm looking to paint an entire wall, floor to ceiiling, with this stuff. The wall will be new. In your opinion, should I just paint over sanded sheet rock or should I add a layer of hardboard to the wall before painting with this?

Awesome video ! One question - why do I need to first cover it w chalk ( and erase )? I like the look of the pure black unblemished backdrop so was wondering if it is necessary to first chalk it up
